Contact Your City Officials

Local governments are poised to lead on climate, but they can often use an extra push toward action or help with executing their climate vision.

Local officials are very accessible, in big cities and small towns alike. They genuinely want to get to know their constituents, and they often feel a deep connection to the place you both call home.  You can have an outsized influence over local climate policy when you reach out to them directly.

  • Use this playbook to:

    1. Gather contact information for your mayor and city councilor(s) 

    2. Get to know their priorities, values, and record of climate action.

    3. Send an email

    4. Make a call 

    5. Tag them on social media 

    6. Ask a friend to do it too

    7. Report back
