I moved. How do I update my address? Whether your new address is in the same state or a different one, register above as if you were registering for the first time. Exception: If you are a student or otherwise living somewhere else temporarily, stay registered at your "permanent address" and request an absentee ballot to the place you'll be on election day.

What about Election Day registration? Many states have strict voter registration deadlines over a month before Election Day (Hey Georgia, looking at you 👀). But even in states that allow Election Day Registration, there can be additional paperwork to complete and hoops to jump through. Much better to register now so you can just show up and vote.
